Message from the principal

Welcome To Compass High School! We have developed the programs and offerings to be one of the best alternative high schools, not only in the county, but in all of southwest Michigan. Alternative programs must do something different than traditional schools!

Enrollment for a full-time student is 4 classes per day (on campus) five days per week.  Students will also be able to work off-campus through an on-line program called OdysseyWare or Edgenuity.  Our school day is scheduled from 7:40-12:53 with lunch being served after the school day is over.  We offer tutoring and mentoring from 1:30-2:00 for students who missed instruction or need individual help from teachers/staff.  The academic year consists of four nine-week quarters, and our graduation requirement is 19 credits.  For those seeking a GED, we are a GED testing site, and we offer preparation classes as well. Our school also offers a CNA class for those interested in the health field.

As you can see, we have many different offerings to fit your educational goals. It's never too late to better yourself!

Jay Birchmeier
