Principal's Message

Leader in Me Lighthouse SchoolDear Comstock Elementary,

It is my pleasure to send this letter and to introduce myself as principal of Comstock Elementary School. I am very excited for the upcoming school year at CES. I feel very fortunate to be able to be a part of this school community and to be able to work to support the students and the families of our school.

This is the start of my 23rd year in education. My career started at North Elementary, where I taught second, fourth, and fifth grade for ten years. After ten years as a North Star, I transferred to Green Meadow Elementary where I taught first, second, third grades, and eventually supported students in kindergarten through third grade in Reading. In 2012, I became the principal of Green Meadow which I thought would be my forever home. As a graduate of Comstock, a parent, and principal, I am thrilled to be leading our future at Comstock Elementary.

I try to bring a broad range of experiences in education to my role as principal of our new school. I view education as a life-long process, and expect that I will continue to learn much about Comstock Elementary this year and in the years to come. Most importantly, I bring a belief that the students are at the center of all school-related decisions. I am excited to unite my experience, my openness to learn, and my child-centered approach to support our students. Because the relationships between families and the school are vital to the success of our students, I encourage you to become involved in every way possible. I look forward to working with each of you.

I am ready to make every effort to help your child reach his/her fullest potential. I promise to give my all to our students’ experience, and I will request the same efforts from our staff and school community. Together we will continue to move Comstock Public Schools and its students through a positive present and toward a strong future.

Sincerely,
Susan Caswell
