6-1 - MHSAA State Meet at Kent City

3 fearless young ladies qualified to compete at the LP State Track meet in Kent City, and represented Colt Nation well. They fought through the rain and gave it their all. We are super proud of the effort they have given all season and for our seniors throughout their careers. Ereni Polhamus landed on the podium for the 2nd year in a row finishing 8th overall in the High Jump. Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan finished off her high school career on the podium once more with a 6th place finish in the 100m dash, and Zamayiah Williams attempted to run between the raindrops while tackling the 300 hurdles finishing off a great showing for the Colts.

5-22 - SW10 Conference Meet at Lawrence

Lady Colts had a great day at the Conference meet as we attempted to beat the heat. Lighting up the track Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan grabbed 1st in the 100m dash with Maleia taking 4th overall., Zamaiyah Williams smashed the competition in the 300H and grabbed the gold with another 1st place finish. The 4x100 team came in 2nd losing by just a hair. Zamaiyah took 1st overall in the 300H with Trinity grabbing the 6th place points. Our 4x800 squad of Celeste, Trinity, Ereni and Lilly ran a new PR. Krisha Patel also had a PR in the 800m. In field events, Ereni P. came out victorious finishing 1st in the High Jump, Trinity Hagenbuch took 5th over at Pole Vault and Brenda Hummel PR’d over at the Long Jump pit.

In Regional action the Lady Colts attempted to run or jump their way into a chance to compete at the Division 3 State meet. Stamping their tickets were 3 very talented athletes, Zamaiyah Williams who ran her personal best all season in the 300H, Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan who found herself in route to state for the 4th year in a row, and Ereni Polhamus who cleared qualifying heights in the High Jump for the 2nd year in a row. The Lady Colts showed CC Pride at its finest and we wish them all the best on June 1st at Kent City.

5-13 - Comstock Invitational

Meet, Compete, Repeat! The Lady Colts showed up once again ready to do just that. Taking 2nd overall in the Pole Vault (Trinity Hagenbuch), the High Jump ( Ereni Polhamus), and the 4x100 (Zamaiya W, Maleia P., Laniya P. & Ti’anna M.) Ti’anna took 1st in the 100m dash followed by Maleia in the 5 spot. In hurdle action Zamaiyah took 4th in the 100H & 1st in the 300H. Celeste and Ereni both ran well for us in the 1600m. Great day for the Colts.

5-8 - SW10 Comstock Meet

Ladies Colts came out ready to defend the home track and they did just that. Trinity Hagenbuch jumped right into 1st place over at Pole Vault while Ereni Polhamus followed with a 1st place performance herself at the High Jump. Zamaiyah Williams was not far behind at the Long Jump pit where she had a great jumping day finishing with a 2nd place finish. Out at Shot Put and Discus our ladies had a great day with both D’Nasia Hemphill and Trinity Hagenbuch setting new PR’s. On the track the ladies 4x100 relay team won and our 4x800 relay squad ran its way to another PR for the season. Amazing work ladies!

5-3 - Harper Creek Relays

The Colts travel to Harper Creek to run and have some fun while doing it. These relays are designed for all co-ed events and the races are not your normal day at the track. Our 300H relay team took 3rd overall with Zamaiyah & Danaya joining Titus Moore and Jaylen Claxton to bring home some hardware. In the “Long Dang Relay” the Colts snagged 6th with a relay team consisting of 8 Colts combined (4 girls/4 boys). Our 4x100 co-ed squad also did very well. Overall, it was a fun day for both runners and coaches.

5-1 - SW10 Comstock Meet

Out at Discus Elizabeth Havenaar PR’d and finished 8th, while over at the Long Jump pit Brenda Hummel landed in 4th place, and once again Ereni Polhamus walked away with 1st place at High Jump. In the 100m & 200m Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan and Maleia Peterson finished 1st & 2nd. Brenda Hummel took 6th in the 100. Danaya Posey took 3rd in the 100m hurdles while Trinity Hagenbuch took 2nd in the 300m hurdles. Trinity also finished 3rd in Pole Vault. The 4x800 relay team of Celeste, Marionna, Krisha and Trinity set a new PR. Great showing for the Lady Colts!

4-26 - Schoolcraft Invitational

Although the weather went from nice to rainy the ladies fought through it and still performed well at the Schoolcraft Invite. Trinity Hagenbuch vaulted her way right into 3rd place in Pole Vault, while Zamaiyah Williams jumped her way into the 3rd place spot at the Long Jump pit. Ereni Polhamas continued her dominance at the High Jump taking 1st once again. On the track the ladies continued striding to some awesome finishes for the day with Celeste Charles-Marik finishing 6th in the mile, Zamaiyah Willliams took 1st place in the 300H, Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan winning streak in the 100m continued with another 1st place finish, and Maleia Peterson took 5th in that event. Laniya Posey ran a PR in the 200m.

4-24 - SW10 Bloomingdale Meet

The ladies were off to a great start at Bloomingdale snagging lots of points in field events. Ereni Polhamus took 1st in the High Jump while Trinity Hagenbuch got 3rd in Pole Vault, and Zamaiyah Williams finished 2nd in the Long Jump. Elizabeth Havenaar was able to PR in Shot Put finishing 7th and 6th in the Discus. Our distance runner racked up the points placing 2nd & 6th (Celeste & Ereni) in the 1600m, Marionna took 4th in the 3200m, and Lilly Bosch took 4th in the 800m. Our 4x800 and 4x100 Relays both set new PRs finishing 4th & 1st. Ti’anna was 1st overall in both the 100m & 200m dash. Maleia Peterson grabbed 3rd in the 100m & 7th in the 200m, and Zamaiyah Williams ran a strong 200m finishing 3rd overall.

4-19 - Comstock Invitational

In the first home meet of the season the Lady Colts tried to use the home track/field to their advantage. Brenda Hummel and Zamaiyah hit the long jump pit and got things off to a great start, along with throwers Elizabeth Havenaar and D’nasia Hemphill. Ereni Polhamus finished 1st in the High Jump and Trinity Hagenbuch grabbed 6th in the Pole Vault. Celeste Charles-Marik ran a solid 1600m. Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan topped all sprinters in the 100m dash finishing 1st, and she scooped up 2nd place in the 200m dash.

4-17 - SW10 Bangor Meet

In sprints the ladies cleaned up in the 100m dash with 3 out of the 7 who ran getting new PR’s. Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan & Zamaiyah Williams finished 1st & 3rd in the 200m dash. Trinity Hagenbuch ran a strong 400m and finished up 3rd in the Pole Vault. Marionna Payne ran a strong 800m and Ereni Polhamus ran a new PR in her 800m, and she jumped her way to not only a new PR, but also a brand-new school record with a High Jump of 5’5”.

4-13 - Hartford JV Meet

Saturday our young ladies headed to Hartford to compete in the Freshman/Sophomore. Maleia Peterson advanced to the finals in both the 100m and 200m dash and she finished 4th overall in both. Trinity Hagenbuch came in 3rd in the Pole Vault, then took to the track and PR’d in the 400m finishing 8th overall and she also ran a great 1600m. Celeste Charles-Marik and Lilly Bosch both ran the 800m and finished in 4th & 8th. Ereni Polhamus took 1st in the High Jump and ran a strong 1600m for us.

4-12 - Gull Lake Invitational

The Lady Colts survived the extreme winds and chilly weather this past Friday afternoon and put some points on the board. Zamaiyah Williams jumped into the 10th place spot in the Long Jump, Ereni Polhamus grabbed the 4th place spot in the High Jump and Trinity Hagenbuch landed in 10th in Pole Vault. On the track Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan finished 3rd in the 100m dash.

4-9 - Hastings Tri

Lady Colts showed up ready and had a 1-1 finish at the Hastings Tri Tuesday night. Taking 2nd in the Long Jump was Zamiyah Williams, while on the High Jump side Ereni Polhamus tied her current school record of 5 '2'' taking 2nd. Throwers D’Nasia Hemphill & Elizabeth Havenaar took 5th & 9th in shot and 6th and 9th in discus. Hitting the track for the 1st time this season Freshman Maleia Peterson, Danaya Posey and Laniya Posey ran strong in the 100m dash. Seniors Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan and Zamaiyah Williams snagged 1st & 3rd overall in the 100m dash. The 4x100 shot out of the blocks for the first time this season taking 1st with the team of Maleia Peterson, Zamaiyah Williams, Danaya Posey & Ti’anna Murphy- Ryan. Celeste-Charles Marik & Krisha Patel came through for the distance side with 1st & 4th place finishes in the 800m run.

4-5 - Lakeview Invitational

The Lady Colts took to the track for the first time this season over at BC Lakeview. Senior, Ti’anna Murphy-Ryan shot out of the blocks taking 2nd place in the 100m dash running a blazing 12.5. Senior, Zamaiyah Williams was able to grab us some points with a 5th place finish in the Long Jump and 6th overall in the 200m dash. Adding to the field events side, Sophomore, Ereni Polhamus snagged a 3rd place finish in the High Jump and Junior, D’Nasia Hemphill got off to a good start in both the Shot Put & Discus, and Trinity Hagenbuch took 4th in the Pole Vault. Trinity also took to the track along with Celeste Charles-Marik in the 1600m run to get things started on the distance side.
