For the final home game of the season and senior night, the Cotls battled Battle Creek Central. We recognized Jessy Hummer, Sahara Keith, and Madison Greenhalgh for their years of dedication to the Comstock Softball Program. We also recognized our two foreign exchange students, Bella Munk and Maria Servera, who bravely stepped out of their comfort zone and joined us this year. After a rough first game, the Colt bats came alive and were consistently scoring runs. The team had 9 RBIs and Sophia Moncel had a triple that one-hopped the FENCE! The team was down going into the bottom of the 5th inning and battled back to win it!

For the last conference game of the season, the Colts traveled to White Pigeon. They started strong and were leading 4-3 after the third inning. Bella Munkh reached base by a walk and managed to steal two bases and was able to score in a hit ball! Sophia Villa led the team in RBIs.
5-15 - Comstock 0 - Hackett 17

During a full week of games, Comstock took on Hackett. They started strong and were able to make plays and score a few runs. Olivia Peterson led the team at the plate going 2 for 2 with singles. The team has made great improvements this season.
5-13 - Comstock 2 - Lawrence 19
5-13 - Comstock 2 - Lawrence 17
A much more confident Comstock Team took the field today and was able to score some runs. Outside of a few errors, the team played some aggressive and competitive softball. Ava Schreiner, Olivia Peterson, Kylie Blett, and Madison Grennhalgh all had base hits!
5-6 - Comstock 0 - Marcellus 22

Comstock was unable to overcome the tough Marcellus defense. Bats were flying but baserunners were shut down at every turn. The Colts were able to hold the offense to only a few runs per inning. There has been a lot of growth happening this season.
5-2 - Comstock 2 - Centreville 21
5-2 - Comstock 0 - Centreville 11
The bats were AWAKE to start the beginning of the game again Centerville. Olivia Peterson and Ava Schreiner got on base and Maddie Greenhalgh doubled with a line drive to the fence in center, scoring those two runs. Centerville came out just as strong and we were unable to catch up.
4-29 - Comstock 0 - Hartford 17
4-29 - Comstock 2 - Hartford 17
Comstock took on Hartford for a conference game. They came out strong against a tough defensive team. Madison Greenhalgh was the only one to put the bat on the ball grounding out to first base. The Colts struggled to catch up and ended up with two losses to end the night.
4-25 - Comstock 0 - Cassopolis 14
4-25 - Comstock 0 - Cassopolis 19
Comstock traveled to Cassopolis to take on the Rangers in today’s doubleheader. The Defense held strong, holding their opponents to only 5 runs in the first two innings. Sadly, the Colt’s couldn’t get their bats moving, but Avery Schreiner, Olivia Peterson, and Sophia Villa all collected hits. The second game was more of the same with bats falling behind.

The Colts traveled to Decatur to take a solid offensive lineup. They managed to hold the Raiders to only 3 runs in the first inning with strong defense in the field. Avery Schreiner had an amazing game behind the plate keeping all the wild pitches in front of the plate. Sophia Villa managed to get the Colts only hit in the game with a single to right field. Energy dipped going into the second game and we fell behind early and ultimately could not catch up.

The Comstock Colts took on the Cardinals from Bloomingdale at home for the second conference game of the season. The Colts fell behind early but kept pushing through. Hayleigh Rinehart led the Colts with one hit and one run batted in. In the second game, Bella Munkh paced the Colts with two walks. Overall, the team has patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.
4-15 - Comstock 1 - Bangor 19

For the first conference game of the season, the Colts took on Bangor at home. The Viking kicked off the first inning with a string of hits, Nadia Smith stopping one base hit with a caught fly ball. Madison Greenhalgh led the Colts with one run batted in, and the cleanup hitter went 2-for-2 for the game, stealing two bases. The Colts fell behind early in both games and struggled to catch up. Kaityle Burza made her first Varsity start on the mound and came away with a strikeout!
4-9 - Comstock 0 - Bridgman 23
4-9 - Comstock 2 - Bridgman 31
The Colts took on the State ranked Bees from Bridgman. They struggled in the first inning to hold the Bees back but continued to battle holding them to single digits in the 2nd and 3rd inning. Kylie Blett had the single hit of the game. In the second game, Olivia Peterson and Sophia Villa each collected a hit for Comstock. Villa and Madison Greenhalgh were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in a run for the Colts.
4-5 - Comstock 9 - Galesburg-Augusta 19
4-5 - Comstock 8 - Galesburg-Augusta 24
Starting off the 2024 season with a match-up against the Rams of Galesburg. Both teams put up a bunch of runs but the Colts fell behind in the end. Comstock led in the first inning with runs scored by Sophia Moncel and Kylie Blett. The team had a great first showing and is looking forward to the rest of the season!
