Building profile
A glimpse at Green Meadow Elementary School's history will show you it is unique amongst the Comstock Schools. It has its roots deep in the soil of Comstock, and the small-town country flavor that opened its doors in 1956 survives today. Consolidated from the County Center School and Elm Rose School Districts, Green Meadow, then a K-8 district, was wooed by both the Portage and Comstock districts before deciding to merge with Comstock in 1965. Staff and society may have changed substantially since Green Meadow was built, but it has retained a warm, welcoming atmosphere.  Parents, community members, former students, and total strangers all report feeling good when visiting Green Meadow.
Although very much a part of Comstock and its vision of excellent education for all students, Green Meadow cherishes the simple beginnings that helped to make it the special place it is today.
