Mrs. Medendorp has been a teacher for seventeen years and this is her third year at Comstock's STEM Academy. She is a certified teacher in elementary education and science in grades K-8. Mrs. Medendorp graduated with her Bachelor's in Education from Western Michigan University, a Master's in Teaching from Marygrove College, and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Cornerstone University. Prior to becoming a Colt, she worked for a charter school where she taught grades 3-7 and was also the Middle School Dean.
Mrs. Medendorp is married and has two children, a 10-year-old girl and an 8-year-old boy, and her family also has a dog named Luke Skywalker. Mrs. Medendorp also enjoys traveling, reading at her family's Up North cabin, celebrating birthdays with her thirteen nieces and nephews (all under the age of ten!), and spending time with her friends. She loves to exercise and has run nine half marathons in the last four years.
She loves teaching at Comstock's STEM Academy and is grateful to be a part of Comstock Public Schools. This year Mrs. Medendorp teaches 6th and 7th grade science, 8th grade honors biology, engineering, automation and robotics, and biomedical studies.
