Welcome to my third grade classroom at Comstock North Elementary. This is my 27th year at North, but every year is new and different with new students and their families. I was born in Kalamazoo and graduated from Western Michigan University with a Master's degree and a Bachelor of Arts degree. I live in Portage with my husband and two children. My daughter is a sophomore at MSU and my son is a junior at Portage Northern high school. I love to travel, read novels in the summer, and eat Italian food.
I enjoy third grade because our curriculum is very exciting and the students are old enough to dig in and learn deeper content. I teach Math to both classes of third graders, and I love the multiplication/ division units the most! Third grade students study the history and geography of Michigan in Social Studies. We learn about the first people of Michigan and how our state began. Comstock has a new Science curriculum this year and we are very excited to use more online tools and try many new Science investigations! Join me as we navigate third grade at North Elementary for 2015-2016.
