My name is Sarah Zebarah, and this is my third year teaching at North Elementary. I grew up in Jackson, MI, and attended Western Michigan University. Go Broncos! There, I earned a Bachelor of Science focusing on Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. I have minors in Language Arts and Social Studies. Previously, I have taught preschool, the Great Start Readiness Program, First Grade, and Kindergarten. I am very excited to be teaching Kindergarten for the 2016-17 school year!
My passion for teaching was first sparked as a teenager when my mom opened a daycare in our home. Since then, I have evolved as a teacher, and my passion for teaching has grown as well. I believe that all children need to be nurtured and encouraged. It is important to keep learning fun, and keep my students engaged. I do this by incorporating hands on activities, movement, and student interest into lessons. I hope to have a positive, lasting impression upon all who enter my classroom.
Some of my favorite things to do outside of teaching are golfing, fishing, and exercising. I enjoy the outdoors, and try to take advantage of the good weather.
