My name is Alesia Walsh and I am excited to teach Reading Intervention. I received my Associate Degree in General Studies at Kellogg Community College, and my Bachelor's Degree in English from Western Michigan University, where my minor area of study was Communication. After completing my teaching internship at NEMS in the fall of 2013, I was hired as a paraprofessional and assisted the Reading Intervention teacher. The following year, I was hired as the Reading Intervention teacher for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. This will be my second year teaching at NEMS.
I have always been an avid reader, and believed that reading could take me anywhere I wasn't physically able to go. I enjoy cooking, knitting, and raising my teenaged daughter. I was born and raised in the Detroit area, and moved to southwest Michigan in 2005.
