Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

The Leader in MeThe Green Meadow Elementary staff is excited to continue implementing a program which we believe is having a profound effect on the staff, students, and community of our school. Green Meadow is in the process of becoming a "Leader in Me" school, where students are taught and practice The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People (Covey). The "Leader in Me" process empowers young people to make positive, effective, and responsible choices by introducing and reinforcing the 7 Habits, a set of leadership and life skills from Stephen Covey’s book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

We have implemented "The Leader in Me" process as way to inspire our students toward a lifetime of personal leadership. "The Leader in Me" provides students with activities that will help them learn practical character and life skills that will lead to those positive choices. Written to appeal to their age level, students are presented with fun activities designed to get them thinking.

Choose Green Meadow Because...

The Leader In Me
We teach direct lessons in the seven habits of highly effective people. We also have modeled lessons illustrated by students. Our students and staff share leadership responsibilities.

Community Involvement
We are proud to say that we have over 60 volunteers in our building on a regular basis.

Early Childhood Reading Grant
United Way’s grant provides KRESA staff to support our teachers with free training, new books for our classrooms, volunteer reading buddies from the community, and a summer reading program.

Student Accountability
One aspect of good leadership is accountability. Students are held accountable for tracking academic and behavior goals using leadership notebooks.

Every Adult, Every Student!
Every adult and every student at Green Meadow is empowered to be a leader... or as we say around here: “Learners Today, Leaders Tomorrow, Colts Forever!”
